How Trihear Liber Combines Open-Ear Hearing Support With a Remote Microphone

Hearing support does not always need to follow the same design.

Some users may prefer an open-ear wearing style. Others may need more help when the person speaking is farther away. And in everyday life, listening needs can shift between conversation, television, and personal audio.

Trihear Liber was designed around that flexibility.

It combines an open-ear hearing amplifier with a dedicated remote microphone, creating a listening system that can adapt to more than one everyday situation. The product also supports Bluetooth audio, giving users another way to access sound beyond face-to-face conversation.

Open-Ear Hearing Support for Everyday Use

Comfort is part of how a hearing device fits into daily life.

Liber uses an open-ear wearing design intended to provide a lightweight, comfortable fit for extended use. Instead of relying on a more closed-in wearing style, the receiver sits around the ear while leaving the ear canal more open.

That design reflects a simple idea:

Hearing support should not only work in the moment. It should also feel practical enough to become part of everyday routines.

For users who prefer an open-ear format, Liber offers a different wearing option while still providing direct physical volume adjustment and a dedicated listening device.

Why Add a Remote Microphone?

Open-ear hearing support helps with the sound available around the listener.

But distance can create a different challenge.

When the person speaking is farther away, their voice has already travelled through the room before it reaches the listener. Background conversations, room acoustics, and other sounds may also become part of what arrives at the ears.

A remote microphone changes where that voice is captured.

With Liber, the remote microphone can be clipped to the person speaking during one-to-one conversations or placed closer to the people talking during group communication. The audio is then transmitted to the Liber hearing amplifier.

The path becomes:

Speaker → Liber Remote Microphone → Liber Hearing Amplifier → Listener

The room itself does not become quieter.

What changes is the distance between the target voice and the microphone capturing it.

Liber’s product materials list remote-microphone transmission latency of 16 ms and a wireless connection range of over 30 metres under supported conditions, providing flexibility for situations where the speaker and listener are separated.

One System, Several Everyday Listening Situations

The remote microphone is not limited to face-to-face conversation.

Liber is designed to support several different listening paths within the same system.

For one-to-one communication, the remote microphone can be clipped closer to the person speaking.

For group conversations, it can be placed on a table among the participants.

For TV listening, the remote microphone can be positioned near the television sound source, or connected to a compatible television or laptop through its 3.5 mm audio input so that the audio can be transmitted wirelessly to the Liber hearing amplifier.

Liber also supports Bluetooth 5.3, allowing users to switch between Bluetooth and Remote Mic modes for different listening needs, including calls and music streaming.

These are different listening situations, but they share one idea:

The useful listening path can change depending on where the sound is coming from.

Sometimes the sound is nearby.

Sometimes the speaker is across the room.

Sometimes the source is a television or another connected device.

Instead of treating each situation as exactly the same listening problem, Liber combines multiple ways of receiving sound in one system.

A More Flexible Listening Path

The value of a hearing solution is not simply the number of features it includes.

What matters is whether those features match the situations a person actually encounters.

Trihear Liber combines an open-ear hearing amplifier, a dedicated remote microphone, TV audio support, and Bluetooth connectivity in one system.

For users who want a more flexible listening setup across conversation, distance, and everyday media, that combination offers another way to think about hearing support.

Not simply louder sound.

A listening path that can change with the situation.
